                            Stripes of All Types

The R.E.E.Ch.E. Traveling Trunk brings the 2014 PA One Book, Stripes of All Types, to life in your classroom. This educational outreach program developed by the Professional Development Committee provides early childhood educators with hands-on materials that will connect students to the the story in a very real and engaging way. Filled with literature, music, puppets, manipulatives, and more, the trunk allows teachers to tap new and creative ways to experience this chosen book in their classroom.  The trunk has been developed so that all materials will be used in easy to follow lesson plans that address many state standards. .

Note:  Small parts are included that may present chocking hazards,

Here is everything you need to know about reserving the Traveling Trunk:

How much does it cost?  There isn’t any fee to use the traveling trunk.  A center must be a member in good standing of Recognizing Excellence in Early Childhood Education in order to receive the trunk.  To become a member, click on this link Membership

How to reserve a trunk?Centers can reserve the trunk for a two week period.  It will be available on the 1st or the 15th of each month from June to December (based on availability).  If there are multiple teachers at one school who want to use the trunk, it will have to be shared within the 2 week period. Complete the form below to reserve the trunk.  Please indicate a primary and secondary request date in the event the trunk is reserved. Centers may also call  Christine Cavallaro at Mountain View School if they have questions. Call (570) 296-9404

Return policies: Don't lose anything! The person requesting the trunk is ultimately responsible for all the return of the trunk and the condition of it's contents.  We have included an inventory of the supplies with the trunk.  Check to make sure that everything on that list is in the trunk when you receive it, and before returning the trunk, make sure that all inventoried items are back in the trunk. Normal wear and tear is expected.  Some of the items in the Traveling Trunk may be intended to get wet.  Please dry them thoroughly before returning them to the trunk. By requesting to take the trunk, you assume responsibility for it and understand that a $100 replacement fee will be charged if the trunk is not returned.

Centers must deliver the trunk to its next destination on or before its due date.  If the 1st or the 15th of the month is a on a weekend, the trunk must be delivered by the Friday before its due date.  You will find out where to deliver it by checking our trunk reservation form.  Please call that center prior to delivering the trunk, so that someone will be there receive it.  Please return the  trunk to its “home base” at Mountain View School (610 Avenue H Matamoras, PA) if the trunk is not reserved for the next two week period.

Returning the trunk in a timely manner is also important. Be considerate of your fellow teachers and return the trunks on time!  We hope that you will enjoy the activities included in the Traveling Trunk as much as we’ve enjoyed putting them together.

Sincerely,

Dianna Thatcher                        Christine  Cavallaro
